The Brightsides are a three-piece Professional covers band playing all popular dance floor fillers from the 50's through the 80s and 90s to bang up to date hits. They are an upbeat party band guaranteed to get the crowd singing along and on their feet at any venue. When you book The Brightsides, you can expect a diverse range of popular songs including some upbeat 80s tracks mixed in with some Britpop classics from the 90s. You can also expect a few epic singalongs from 50s, 60s and 70s too. The set list is ever evolving, and band are happy to throw in a few modern classics and will attempt your requests too, just to make your event a little bit extra special. They can also provide a DJ service playing your own personalised Spotify playlist if you wish. Or they can offer an acoustic/live-lounge style option if you're looking for something a little more intimate. The Brightsides are built up of three music-loving, experienced and professional musicians and thanks to the use of custom-built performance tracks that contain backing instrument parts like keyboards, brass and synths the band kick out a richer and fuller sound compared to their contemporaries. In basic terms this means you get the sound of a five- or six-piece band for an extremely affordable price! The Brightsides all hail from Staffordshire, and travel all over the midlands to entertain a good crowd. Lead vocalist Matt Brightside has an incredible range to his voice and can pull of hits by artistes ranging from Elvis Presley to Oasis – all this whilst also playing bass with dexterity too. Lee Brightside has recently joined the band offering an authentic and energetic feel to his electric guitar playing. Meanwhile, dependable drummer Rich Brightside keeps the band in time, never missing a beat. He keeps the songs bouncing along with some of the tightest drumming you will ever hear. The Brightsides have been branded as the ‘Midlands ultimate party band’ and have received rave reviews wherever they go. A typical evening will see the band performing two sets which will have the dance floor packed out from the very first track. I had a great experience with Rich and the Brightsides. Good communication, they showed up on time, set themselves up, and played for about 100 minutes. A good range of songs played live, plus tunes before and afterwards over the PA. I would definitely recommend them.

The Brightsides were fantastic played to a full house at Derrington Village and Social Club. The band were very well recieved by young and old and anyone in the middle. A fantastic night was had by all with the band, re booked for 2020 but due to the world facing a pandemic it was able to happen, hopefully 2021 will see a return to NYE partying and The Brightsides bringing it into Derrington. What do your clients love most about your performances?

We love to please a crowd. The mix of songs, the energy and the jumping in the crowd for a dance all adds to energy of our performance. Our professionalism is second to non. If there is a problem- we can sort it. We will even liaise directly with wedding planners! We are easy to deal with, and confident that we are able to match many like for like quotes.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Pilaton Farm Ashes Barn, Endon Derrington Hall, Stafford. The Liquorist, Chelmsford Swan Live, Stafford and Many more wedding and party venues. We travel far and wide to do what we love!

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

It varies from band member to band member. We all love our indie rock! Along with The Brightsides, Matt (vocals) plays in an original Indie Rock outfit, Harry (guitar) plays in a pop rock original band and Rich (drums) has been known to play Ringo in Beatles Tribute bands. To name bands: The. Killers (We are The Brightsides after all!) Oasis The Beatles

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Pillaton Hall Farm. Bonfire Night 2019. 400 people all in a tent, dancing with their children and grandparents alike. Our set really does have something for everyone. However, EVERY show is our most high profile! It is your special night and we are certain we can deliver top class entertainment for you! We love what we do, and it shows every time we perfo

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes. We work with the same line up as much as possible. We do have “dep” musicians who are ready to play at short notice in case of illness or unavailability. We believe we have a solid reputation as a band, and want to show case that. Any other musicians are also professional and perform to a highest standard!

Do you have different line-up options?

Our core set up is: Bass/Lead Vocals, Guitar/Backing Vocals and Drummer. This is for our standard full electric sets. We also offer an acoustic live-lounge line up featuring two guitar players and percussion.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

If you secure a date, we are then made available. We always aim to be early- so we can get ready to make the night run smoothly. If a time changes, get in touch. We will do everything possible to accommodate this change.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We do. You can set up the playlist and send us a link, use a phone or just let us do the work. Anything you send will be checked against the planned set list for your event, just to make sure you don’t have the same songs playing all night! A band member is always available to add songs into the mix if there are any special requests.

How much time do you need to set up?

Ideally, 90 minutes. If it is possible to not have guests in the room whilst we do this, even better. BUT, we know this isn’t always possible, so we work around you. Once we are set up and sound checked, the music will start, setting the mood for a night to remember.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We have played many shows, to many audiences. We will have a conversation about the clientele with you, and will craft our set to best suit that night. We do chop and change set lists quite often, so if you give us plenty of notice for special requests, we will be sure to have them ready for you!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

It certainly is. We provide stage and dance floor lighting, speakers and bass bins in order to get a quality sound for you and your guests. We do require a space of at least 4m wide by 2.5m deep in order to fit all our equipment safely. Please also let us know about any noise limiters, so we bring the set up for the event.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We may be able to learn a specific song. However, we would not like to not do a special song justice. Just ask, and we will see if we can add it in. Any special requests do require an added fee in order to get sufficient rehearsal time.
